The variety is late-maturing, with a period from emergence to harvest of 125–175 days. The plant reaches a height of 30–50 cm and forms broad dark green or grayish-green leaves.
The pseudostem is cylindrical, relatively short, 15–20 cm in length, but thick, with a diameter of 3–6 cm. The average weight of one plant is 200–325 g. The taste is mild and slightly pungent.
The variety is characterized by high cold hardiness and is suitable for autumn-winter harvesting, and in some regions, for overwintering in the field. To obtain a blanched portion of the stem, hilling is required during the growth process; the seedling method of cultivation is recommended.
