The plant forms a short, fleshy pseudo-stem and broad leaves, the color of which varies from light green to blue-green. Plant height can range from 40 to 90 cm.
The variety is classified as early and is distinguished by good resistance to cold. It is also known under the name «tête d'anguille» («eel's head»).
The crop is suitable for cultivation on well-fertilized, humus-rich soils with sufficient moisture. It is used in cooking for preparing soups, gratins, pies, and for fresh consumption.
