The variety is late-maturing and characterized by low plant height. The white part of the stem reaches 12–14 cm in length and has a semi-long or short shape with significant thickness. The foliage is flat, with a characteristic blue-green or purple hue.
The plant possesses high resistance to cold and relative resistance to onion fly infestation. The variety is considered a traditional French regional type and is close in its characteristics to the Bleu de Solaise variety.
