The variety is fast-growing and is traditionally classified as an autumn type, with a harvest period from September to December. The plant forms thick, medium-length false stems and broad leaves ranging in color from dark green to a blue-green shade. Total plant height varies from 40 to 90 cm.
The variety is open-pollinated, not hybrid. Under certain conditions, it can be used as a winter leek, although data on its winter hardiness vary: from a lack of resistance to the ability to withstand temperatures down to -15°C. In some registers, the variety is mentioned as a synonym or a variant of the Elefant variety.
