The Danko variety was bred by breeders at the Mayak experimental station of the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the NAAS of Ukraine. The development of the variety was aimed at expanding the range of domestic leeks represented in the state register.
The plant possesses high resistance to downy mildew. The variety is intended for the production of vegetable produce containing vitamin C, protein, carotene, and a complex of microelements.
