The Brsečki češnjak variety originates from the Brseč region in Croatia. It belongs to the category of old autochthonous varieties formed as a result of long-term folk cultivation, rather than modern breeding work.
In 2021, the variety became the subject of research by the Institute of Agriculture and Tourism in Poreč, aimed at describing and characterizing local genetic resources. Detailed agronomic characteristics and product quality indicators are not currently available in the public domain.
