Variety description

The origin of the variety remains a subject of discussion; it is assumed to be a hybrid of Allium cristophii or the result of crossing Allium auctum and Allium atropurpureum. The height of the flower stalks is from 65 to 90 cm. The inflorescences have a hemispherical or rounded shape; the flowers are star-shaped, with a purple-pink or violet-pink hue.
The plant has glossy, strap-shaped leaves with a waxy coating that remain green for a long time. Flowering occurs in May–June. After flowering, the bulb divides into 6–10 small daughter bulbs, which requires regular digging and division of clusters to maintain flowering.
The variety has sturdy flower stalks resistant to lodging. It is used in landscape design for planting in mixed borders and greening sunny areas, and it is also suitable for cut flowers.
