Garden chervil is an annual or biennial herbaceous plant with a height of 30 to 60 cm. Its leaves are characterized by a lacy shape, fine texture, and light green color, resembling parsley leaves.

The plant is cold-hardy and prefers partial shade and moist, nutrient-rich soils. In cooking, it is valued for its specific light anise aroma. Under high temperatures and long daylight hours, the crop rapidly forms flower stalks.
