The Frisé type is a plant variety with a compact habit. The main distinguishing feature is the leaves: they are deeply incised and curly, unlike flat-leaf chervil forms.

The plant belongs to cool-season crops and is prone to rapid bolting when temperatures rise and day length increases. The leaves have an aroma with notes of anise and are actively used in cooking for garnishing dishes, and as an ingredient in sauces, salads, and soups.
