Variety description

10 August 2026

The root celery variety Alba is characterized by resistance to bolting. The scientific literature contains references to experiments with tetraploid forms of celery, which may be related to breeding work on this variety.

The name Alba is frequently used for a wide range of agricultural crops, including strawberries, onions, and radishes. Existing descriptions in open sources indicating a fruit weight of 23–25 grams and a short growing season of 28–32 days are incorrect for celery and refer to other crops.
