The variety is classified as a plant with a short leaf length, including the petiole, and a medium length of the leaf blade. In terms of taste, it corresponds to the typical characteristics of celery.

The root vegetables of the Ortho variety contain beige-colored areas that are prone to oxidation and spotting upon contact with air. The variety was used as one of the parent forms in the breeding of the Athos variety.
