Golden self blanching

Terminated

Apium graveolens L. Celery · Vegetables

also searched as: голден селф бланчинг

Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is mid-season; the period from germination to technical maturity is 85 to 105 days. The plant reaches a height of 25 to 60 cm. The stalks are characterized by thickness, deep ribbing, and the absence of fiber.

The main feature of the variety is the natural self-blanching process, thanks to which the stalks acquire a light color and tender texture without additional earthing up. The plant shows increased resistance to diseases compared to other varieties, but is demanding of moisture.

The variety is an heirloom and is suitable for fresh consumption, use in salads, drying, and canning. Compared to green celery varieties, this variety has a less pronounced aroma.
