The Westlandse variety, also known as Westlandse dark green, belongs to the leaf celery type. The plant forms thinner, hollow, and shorter petioles compared to stalk-type varieties. The variety possesses strong growth vigor and produces aromatic bright green foliage.

The plant is cold-hardy and winter-hardy. When harvesting, it is recommended to keep the central part of the bush to ensure further regrowth of the greens. It is used primarily as a spicy-aromatic crop for adding to soups and various dishes.
