Variety description

The shrub is characterized by a spreading form and reaches a height of 1.5–2 meters with a similar width. The foliage has a rich dark purple or burgundy-brown color, which changes to bright red or orange tones in the autumn period. Fruits ripen in September–October and are ornamental in nature.

The plant is noted for being undemanding, drought-tolerant, and capable of withstanding urban conditions. The variety is winter-hardy, withstanding frosts down to –35 °C, although partial freezing of the tips of young shoots is possible during severe winters. It prefers well-lit areas, as leaf color decorative quality decreases in the shade. It is undemanding regarding soil composition but prefers drained and moderately moist soils.
