The plant forms dark green leaves with distinct white ribs and white petioles. The leaves are used as spinach for salads and soups, while the petioles and veins are used similarly to asparagus in boiled or stewed form. Characterized by juicy and sweetish leaves.

The variety is fast-growing with the possibility of harvesting over a long period from spring to autumn. The variety is intended for cultivation in open field on humus soils with sufficient moisture. The name is often used as a trade name for a group of Swiss chard varieties with white petioles.
