The plant has an upright, compact habit. The leaves are dark green in color; the petioles are white, very wide, and fleshy. The variety is considered early-maturing: the crop is ready for harvest 6–8 weeks after sowing.

The plant is resistant to light frosts and is suitable for prolonged harvesting through periodic cutting of outer leaves. The petioles are used in cooking for braising, salads, and side dishes, while the leaves are used similarly to spinach in soups, smoothies, or fresh.
