The period from emergence to technical maturity is 60 to 70 days, according to other data — 35–40 days. The leaves have a taste reminiscent of spinach, and the 30–40 cm long petioles are comparable to asparagus in their characteristics when cooked.

The variety possesses resistance to drought and common diseases. The crop is considered universal: leaves are used for preparing salads and soups, petioles are boiled or stewed, and the plants themselves are used for decorative purposes.
