Variety description

10 August 2026

The ISCI TOP variety is characterized as a high-performance source of biomass, specifically bred for effective soil biofumigation. During the decomposition of its plant mass, isothiocyanates are released, contributing to the suppression of a wide range of soil-borne fungal pathogens, including Phytophthora spp., Sclerotinia spp., Rhizoctonia spp., and Pythium spp.

The plant possesses a high content of secondary metabolites, such as glucosinolates (in particular, sinigrin), polyphenols, and flavonoids. Research shows the variety's ability to suppress the development of certain nematode species, for example Ditylenchus gigas. The variety is a subject of scientific programs in the field of sustainable agriculture and green chemistry.
