The variety is characterized by a high content of fatty oils with a low level of erucic acid. Due to the presence of glucosinolates, the variety is used in experiments on the suppression of soil pathogens by the biofumigation method.
The plant is also used in scientific research devoted to the study of the ability of crops to accumulate heavy metals.
