The variety is a compact semi-erect shrub 10–30 cm in height with a bush width of 18–24 cm. Leaves are small, scale-like, dark green in color.
Flowers are dark purple or violet; the plant belongs to the 'bud-bloomer' group. The flowering period is September–November.
The plant prefers acidic, well-drained peaty soils and good lighting. It is used in landscape design for borders and creating floral arrangements.
