The plant is a dwarf shrub with an upright, broad-bushy habit. Its main decorative feature is the change in foliage color: in summer it has a golden-yellow hue, while in the autumn-winter period it acquires an orange-red or copper color.
The variety belongs to the ornamental foliage category and does not flower. The plant possesses high winter hardiness (USDA zones 5–6, withstands temperatures down to -23…-26°C) and resistance to diseases.
Cultivation requires sunny sites with acidic, poor, well-drained sandy or peat soils. The variety does not tolerate stagnant moisture and is used in landscape design for rock gardens, heather gardens, and container gardening.
