Buttunazzo Roggianese is one of two main ecotypes of the Peperone Roggianese pepper. It is a short variety of the corno di toro type pepper, which has been cultivated in the Italian region of Calabria since the beginning of the 19th century.
The main characteristic of the fruits is their low water content, which makes them suitable for drying in braids or on special racks. The taste of the variety can vary from sweet to slightly piquant.
