The variety is a traditional landrace originating from the Bresse region. The plant reaches a height of 50–60 cm and is characterized by its compactness, which allows it to be grown in containers. It is an early-maturing variety with a ripening period of about 60 days, while possessing increased tolerance to cool climates.
The fruits are conical or rounded in shape, 5–9 cm long and 2–3 cm wide, turning from green to red upon ripening. The pungency level of the fruits is 1500–2500 SHU, and the taste is characterized by fruity notes. The variety is suitable for fresh consumption, making sauces, or drying to obtain powder.
