The variety is a perennial subshrub belonging to the species Caryopteris × clandonensis. Representatives of this species are characterized by a height of 60–100 cm, flowering on current-year shoots in late summer – early autumn, and the presence of aromatic leaves.

The variety name may indicate decorative golden or yellowish foliage coloration, which is characteristic of a number of modern cultivars of this species. The variety is intended for ornamental gardening, including use in mixed borders, borders, and container planting.
