The Celosia variety Caripe is included in UPOV guidelines as an example for calibration and visual assessment of morphological plant characteristics.

Characteristic features of the variety include the presence of anthocyanin coloration of the leaf petioles, as well as a long leaf blade of medium width. Information on agronomic characteristics, such as height or disease resistance, is not presented in open sources.
