The variety is a breeding form derived from the species Chrysanthemum pacificum, known as the silver-and-gold chrysanthemum. The plant is a perennial with a shrub-type growth habit, forming dense hemispherical cushions.

A distinctive feature of the variety is its relatively low height and compactness. Like the original species, the plant is valued for its decorative foliage: dark green leaves with a distinct silvery border. The inflorescences are small yellow tubular flowers gathered in corymbs.
