A perennial rhizomatous herbaceous plant used as a ground cover, it forms dense clumps 30–60 cm tall. The main ornamental value is the leaves with a silver-white border along the edge and a silvery underside. In October-November, the plant produces numerous small yellow flowers gathered in dense capitulum inflorescences.
The species is characterized by high drought resistance, tolerance to poor soils, and the ability to withstand salty sea air, but it does not tolerate soil waterlogging during the winter period. It is used in landscape design for rock gardens, borders, and container cultivation.
The Bess variety is mentioned in official databases as a breeding object; however, a detailed description of its specific agronomic traits is absent in open publications.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
