The variety is a perennial plant distinguished by ornamental foliage: grey-green leaf blades are framed by a silvery border. The inflorescences have the shape of yellow capitula, which visually resemble small buttons.

The plant is undemanding to soil fertility levels and prefers areas with good sunlight. In gardening and landscape design, the variety is primarily used as an ornamental groundcover plant.
