Variety description

The plant forms an elongated rosette of wide dark green leaves with slight waviness at the edges. Petioles are thick and fleshy, retaining their texture during thermal processing. To reduce bitterness and obtain a more delicate taste, blanching of the central part of the rosette is applied by restricting light access a few weeks before harvest.

The variety is intended for autumn and winter harvest; it possesses high frost resistance, allowing plants to be left in the ground until significant cold weather sets in. When sown early, the variety is prone to premature bolting. It prefers fertile soils and well-lit areas.
