The plant forms a voluminous wavy leaf rosette with a height of 40–45 cm. The leaves are deeply serrated, light-green in color; the heart of the rosette has a light-yellow or white tint.

The vegetation cycle is about 100 days. The leaves of the variety possess a spicy, tart, and bitter taste characteristic of endive; they are consumed raw in salads.
