The variety belongs to the smooth-leaved endive group and is characterized as a robust plant with a full center, reaching a height of 20–30 cm. The leaves are broad and smooth; to obtain a more tender consistency, it is recommended to perform a blanching procedure by tying the foliage.

The plant is an autumn type: sowing is carried out from mid-June to August, and harvesting from September to November. The variety has good tolerance to humid autumn conditions but is sensitive to low temperatures, which carries a risk of early bolting. The use of the variety is universal: it is consumed both raw and after heat treatment.
