The Mesola variety belongs to the group of late-maturing radicchio varieties. The plant forms round-shaped heads, the leaves are colored a bright red, contrasting with white veins.

During agronomic studies, resistance to bolting was recorded for the variety. The variety is distinguished by high productivity and a relatively low susceptibility to powdery mildew.

The plant is used as a vegetable crop for the production of leaf products.
