The variety belongs to the heading chicory group and forms a leaf rosette. Due to the appearance of the plants, this type of chicory is often called "edible roses." The variety is a local landrace, resulting in natural variability of traits, and is not an F1 hybrid.

The plant is intended for winter cultivation or forcing. The taste qualities of the variety vary from sweet to pleasantly bitter, which is characteristic of this group of chicories. As the variety is autochthonous, specific morphological parameters may differ slightly depending on the seed producer.
