The variety is presumably a mutation of the "Comune" clementine variety. The "Apireno" breeding line was obtained in Italy by irradiating the original "Monreal" variety to achieve seedlessness, although the fruits may still contain a small number of seeds.

The tree is vigorous with a rounded, dense crown and lanceolate leaves. Harvesting begins in mid-October. The fruits are medium-sized, spherical, slightly flattened, with an orange thin rind and sweet, juicy yellow-orange pulp.

The plant possesses high productivity and consistent bearing. The variety is intended for fresh consumption, use in desserts, and juice production.
