The plant is a shrub or small tree reaching 3–4 meters in open ground, maintaining a compact size of up to 1.5 meters when grown in pots. The branches are almost thornless, and the leaves are rigid and thick. Poncirus trifoliata is recommended as the preferred rootstock. The plant is self-fertile.
The fruit is round or short-oval in shape and contains a small number of seeds. The thick peel is characterized by a distinct aroma and sweetness. The harvest ripens between late autumn and winter.
