The plant is a compact evergreen shrub or tree, reaching a height of 1 to 2 meters, and in some cases up to 4.5 meters. The crown is dense, spherical, and the branches sometimes have small thorns. The leaves are dark green, glossy, and lanceolate.
The fruits are round or slightly flattened, smaller in size than those of the Nagami variety. The fruit color is golden-orange, the taste is sweet and sour, and the peel is thin and sweet, which allows them to be consumed whole. The ripening period usually begins in November and can last until spring.
The variety has relatively high frost resistance, withstanding temperature drops from -8°C to -20°C. The plant is sensitive to soil salinity. It is traditionally used fresh, as well as for making candied fruits, marmalades, and jellies.
