The variety is the result of a breeding program initiated in 2000 and was identified in 2006. The plant is propagated via tissue culture and grafted onto US-897 and US-942 rootstocks.

Fruits of this variety are distinguished by an attractive external and internal color, as well as a dry rind that separates from the flesh very easily. The variety is intended for commercial fruit production.
