The tree of this variety is characterized by compact growth. Unique features of the plant include the presence of red pigmentation in the vascular bundles of the leaves, on the pedicels, and sometimes in the bark and young shoots. The variety belongs to the mid-season maturity group.
The fruits are medium to large in size, round or slightly oval in shape with a prominent navel. The peel is deep orange, often with a reddish blush. The flesh is an intense orange-red hue; the fruits peel well and are seedless.
The variety is intended for fresh consumption. The plant is compatible with most common Poncirus trifoliata rootstocks and their hybrids. Successful cultivation is noted in hot climates, which promote the intense accumulation of lycopene in the fruits.
