The variety originated as a bud mutation of the Washington Navel variety. In terms of its characteristics, the tree does not differ significantly from the parent variety and has a regular but moderate yield. A tendency for fruit drop before harvest is noted.
The fruit are medium or medium-small in size, spherical, and have a bright orange color. The peel is thin or medium-thin and smooth. The variety ripens 7–10 days earlier than Washington Navel and is suitable for fresh consumption and juice production.
The variety is sensitive to fruit cracking. Commercial use is limited by a tendency toward low yields and relatively small fruit size.
