The fruits have an elongated, pear-shaped form and a bumpy, rough peel. The white part of the fruit (albedo) accounts for up to 70% of the volume; it is juicy and sweetish, which is why the fruit is suitable for eating whole. The pulp has a sour taste with mild sweet notes.

The plant is a tree with thorny branches and an irregular crown. The leaves are large, oblong, and serrated at the edges. Young shoots and buds have a reddish tint, and the fragrant flowers turn white when they bloom. The height depends on growing conditions; in pot culture, the plant is more compact.

The variety is remontant and fruits several times a year; the main harvest is collected from December to February. It is used fresh, and for making candied fruit, jam, and liqueurs. The variety is sensitive to low temperatures and is recommended for cultivation in USDA zone 9b.
