The PLBA1 variety is a spontaneous mutation of the Eureka lemon variety. The fruits have an ellipsoid shape with a distinct neck and nipple; the peel is yellow upon ripening and has moderate thickness. A distinctive feature is the light yellow-pink color of the flesh, with the fruits containing few seeds or being seedless.
The variety belongs to the late-ripening group, with maturity periods comparable to the Verna variety. The trees of the variety are not characterized by parthenocarpy. The fruits are intended for the fresh market as a pigmented-flesh lemon variety.
