The Summer Prim variety is a natural mutation of the Primafiori variety, also known as Fino. The primary purpose of this lemon is commercial production of fruit in the period from May to July, which makes it possible to extend the harvest season for Fino-type produce and fill a market niche during a shortage of fresh fruit.
The fruit of this variety are characterized by smooth thin skin, uniform size, and high juice content, which can exceed 50% in May. The variety is noted for high productivity with stable annual fruiting, and the fruit are suitable for storage provided they are harvested in a timely manner.
