The plant has the form of a shrub or a small tree with a spreading crown, thorny branches, and thick shoots. The leaves are light green, oval-elliptic in shape. Foliage density is usually low.

Fruits are medium-sized, spherical, often with an apical nipple. The thin, smooth rind turns yellow upon ripening. The pulp is straw-colored, tender and juicy; the citric acid content is less than 0.1%.

The crop is considered one of the most resistant to low temperatures among limes, but it is sensitive to viral infections. The fruits are consumed fresh, used in drinks and desserts, and the plant itself is often used as a rootstock.
