The variety is a dwarf bush Clematis, genetically related to New Zealand species, in particular the C. forsteri group. The plant reaches a height of about 50 cm and is characterized by blooming in April-May with creamy-white flowers.

The variety prefers sunny locations or partial shade and requires fertile soil with good drainage, as it is sensitive to waterlogging and decay during the winter period. Cold hardiness is limited to temperatures down to -10 °C.

Due to its compact shape and lack of ability to climb, the variety is used as a groundcover or container plant, as well as for landscaping rocky gardens. The plant contains substances capable of causing irritation to pets if ingested.
