Variety description

The variety is a hybrid between a species clematis and a large-flowered hybrid. The plant is an herbaceous perennial and does not have clinging tendrils, so it requires tying to a support or cultivation as a cascading or groundcover plant. The height reaches 1.0–1.5 meters, sometimes up to 1.8 meters.

The flowers are nodding or semi-open, bell-shaped, and have 4, sometimes up to 6 sepals. The color of the sepals is dark violet-blue, lightening to blue over time. The stamens change color from greenish to violet, and the anthers are yellow or orange-red. Young foliage has a bronze-green shade, while mature foliage is medium-green.

The plant belongs to pruning group 3, as it blooms on current-year shoots. The flowering period lasts from late spring or summer to September-October. In autumn, the above-ground part dies off, and in spring the plant produces new shoots from the root collar. The variety is suitable for container cultivation and free growth through other plants.
