The plant is a compact vine 1.3 to 2.0 meters in height. The flowers are large, 15–18 cm in diameter, consisting of 6–12 broad elliptical sepals. The color is pure white, sometimes with a light bluish or lavender tint at the beginning of blooming, which fades over time. Stamens have beige or brown anthers on creamy-yellow filaments.

The variety belongs to pruning group 2, although pruning as per group 3 is permissible. Flowering is abundant and occurs in two waves: on previous year's shoots in May–June and on current year's shoots from July or August until frost. The plant is winter hardy, suitable for zones 4–9, but is sensitive to damp soils and may be susceptible to fungal diseases.
