The plant is a vine that climbs using leaf petioles. The foliage is light green and deciduous. The flowers consist of 6 broadly oval sepals with a pointed tip and slightly wavy edges, featuring stamens with yellow anthers on cream filaments.

The variety belongs to the 3rd pruning group; shoots should be shortened in spring to a height of 20–50 cm from the ground. The plant is frost-hardy (down to -34 °C), prefers sunny or semi-shaded locations, as well as fertile, moderately moist, and well-drained soils.
