Variety description

The plant is a vine 2–3 meters in height with bright green matte foliage. The flowers are large, 12–15 cm in diameter, simple, consisting of 6–8 elliptical sepals with pointed tips. The color of the petals is purple-red with a white stripe down the center that widens toward the base; the anthers are purple on yellowish filaments.

The variety belongs to the group of early-flowering large-flowered clematis with a flowering period from May or June to July. The pruning type is the second (light). The plant possesses high winter hardiness (zone 4), withstanding temperatures down to -28...-34°C. It requires supports, to which it clings with its leaf petioles, and needs shading for the root zone.
