The vine reaches a height of 2.5–3 meters. The large flowers, 10–14 cm in diameter, have a dark violet velvety color, a cup or propeller shape, and consist of 6 sepals. Yellow-green or light yellow stamens create a contrast with the dark petals; the flowers are located on long pedicels.

The variety belongs to pruning group 3; flowering occurs on current-year shoots from June to September or October. The plant possesses high winter hardiness down to -30...-35 °C and good immunity. The variety develops better in partial shade or shade, as petals may fade in bright sun.

Clematis is suitable for landscaping trellises, arches, gazebos, fences, and for cultivation in containers.
