The LEL C02 variety belongs to the genus Cordyline (Asparagaceae family) and is a hybrid of Cordyline australis x C. banksii. In publications, the variety is also referred to by the common name Cabbage Tree.

In official documents, the variety appears in leaf color comparison tables with other varieties such as LEL C01 and Purple Sensation. Specific agronomic data, including plant height and disease resistance, are not presented in open sources.
